Synopsis

Format: A moderated panel discussion to facilitate audience engagement through a Q&A session. The panel aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the multidisciplinary approach required to effectively prepare for and respond to cyber incidents in today's complex threat landscape. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panellists on specific aspects of the cyber incident management and response process.

Synopsys: In today's interconnected digital world, cyber incidents pose a significant threat to organisations of all sizes. Responding effectively to such incidents requires a multidisciplinary approach, integrating legal; government, media and community relations; technical; and security expertise. Our panel discussion will explore a holistic response approach to cyber incidents, shedding light on the diverse perspectives and strategies needed to successfully navigate cyber threats left and right of “boom”.

Panellists:

Legal Expert: An experienced legal practitioner specialising in cyber law, providing insights into the legal implications and requirements associated with cyber incidents. Annie will discuss legal considerations such as data breach notification laws, regulatory compliance, and potential liability issues.

Government, Media and Community Relations Specialist: A seasoned professional with expertise in navigating interactions between organisations and its external stakeholders during cyber incidents. Paul will address the role of government, media and community entities in shaping incident response, information sharing protocols, and regulatory engagement.

Technical Expert: A skilled technologist proficient in cybersecurity tools, techniques, and protocols. Remy will offer technical insights into incident detection, analysis, and mitigation, discussing strategies for preparing for, identifying and containing cyber threats effectively.

Security Practitioner: A cybersecurity practitioner with hands-on experience in implementing security measures and incident response protocols in large scale and government organisations. Angelo will share practical insights into building resilient cybersecurity frameworks, incident response planning, and post-incident remediation efforts.

Moderator: A seasoned national security practitioner with a track record in incident response management and crisis communication. Meg draws on her experience in leading cross-functional teams and orchestrating effective incident response efforts in high-stakes situations. Meg will guide the panel discussion for a dynamic exchange of ideas while facilitating audience interaction through a structured Q&A session.
