Synopsis
In line with the main theme of this year's CyberCon, this panel will offer ground-breaking reflections on where cybersecurity is heading in the near and longer-term future. It will provide a holistic overview for anyone in the industry to reflect upon, to be ready to anticipate change before change itself happens. As the title itself mentions, the panellists will launch themselves in ambitious predictions and careful considerations, alternating between long-term reflections and short-term recommendations.
The panellists have been carefully selected to provide as broad of a perspective as possible: from start-ups to large tech incumbents, from demand-side businesses to professional services, we have them all represented in the panel.
The highly interactive panel discussion will explore in particular the following sub-themes:
- Role of technology in cybersecurity: What trends shall we expect from both an attackers and a defenders' perspective? What new tech will make its mark in the industry?
- The business of cybersecurity: How is it going to evolve moving forward? Will we see an expanded role for start-ups and smaller players or will aggregation be the norm? How is the Australian market going to behave compared to the global scale?
- Insourcing vs outsourcing: What dynamics will characterise this traditional debate and shape it in the future? How will MSSPs adapt to the coming changes?
- Cybersecurity needs: How will organisations anticipate what is coming next by adopting a proactive stance vis-à-vis emerging cyber-threats? How will cyber-budgets shape up in the future?
- Big hairy audacious questions: What questions will cybersecurity professionals at all levels need to answer in the future?
The panellists will explore these and other themes, based on the moderator's inputs (which will not fall short of being thought-provoking!) and on the audience's live questions. Our presenters will be 100% up for the challenge: they will rely on their immense expertise in the cybersecurity field as, together, they total 100+ years of experience in IT and cybersecurity. And all of this despite being very young!
The moderator (Ivano Bongiovanni) is an experienced facilitator and MC; given the quality of the presenters and the hyper-compelling topic, his role will be of simple facilitator for a discussion that promises to be an absolute cracker in the CyberCon programme.
