Dr Robert Ross is an Associate Professor in the Engineering Department at La Trobe University. Robert is head of Robotics and Electronics Research, founder of the RAMPS robotics lab and has developed a collection of robots to explore wombat burrows, sewers and even prune grapevines. In addition to robotics, educational escape rooms are a cornerstone of Robert’s research which has culminated in an AAUT National Citation for teaching excellence, two Vice Chancellors Teaching awards and two College teaching excellence awards. Robert has been developing educational escape rooms since 2018 to create highly engaging, peer learning environments. Robert also invented an 'escape room decoder box' which has been used in classrooms across Australia. Robert has designed a series of 9 cyber security puzzles designed to equip learners with a variety of knowledge and skills across social engineering, physical security, online safety and ciphers. Versions of these puzzles have been used for industry based training, undergraduate students and even to engage high schools students in cyber awareness.
