Melissa is Special Counsel with over 15 years’ experience as a commercial technology and intellectual property lawyer working across both in-house and private practice. She has a strong track record is assisting clients to achieve their goals and meet strategic aims whilst managing risk. She specialises in matters relating to information technology, data protection, privacy, information security, and intellectual property.
Melissa has spent much of her career working as in-house counsel to multinational technology companies working on complex IT technology contracting matters as well as in a specialised IP firm assisting clients to identify and commercialise their intellectual property.
Melissa has a particular interest in cyber security, holding a Masters in Cyber Security Operations from the University of New South Wales. She has spoken at leading cybersecurity conferences such as Australian Information Security Association CyberCon, Blackhat Asia and Women in Security on privacy and cyber law.
