Laura is the Department of Government Services’ inaugural Cyber Emergency Management Officer. She comes with varied emergency management experience from national, state, and regional roles across Victoria and New Zealand.
In Victoria, Laura has supported the roll-out of the state’s new emergency management planning framework. This included working through complex planning issues by legislated deadlines and championing opportunities at state, regional and municipal levels. This was no mean feat against the backdrop of an emergency management system in flux (2019-20 Victorian Bushfires and COVID).
Laura now brings her expertise to the cyber security sector. She is pleased to be leading a step-change in the state’s cyber security planning for cyber security emergencies and high-level incidents.
Laura has a Post-Graduate Diploma in Emergency Management (awarded with merit) from Massey University, New Zealand.
