Synopsis

The session will educate attendees on authentication best practices and how modern, passwordless protocols developed by the FIDO alliance are ‘human-centric’, leveraging deliberate intent and biometric data to both strengthen security and empower users.

There are many aspects of the human element we could consider in providing secure access for individuals: Biometric, user intent, human gesture, voice, iris scan, etc. all of which could be made available for a login process. There are also privacy protections of the human elements provided for authentication: where is the data stored, who can access it, is it being shared, etc.

As we increase our Cyber resilience across government and industry we must address our most important element in the process, the human, and provide them with secure, simple and readily available login functions that protect their data to the fullest of our abilities. This session will educate you on the aspects of “good” authentication practices and what the future will bring as we progress towards a passwordless world.
