"Let's not mess around, delivering cybersecurity is bloody hard and we all need help.
I've worked in some difficult environments. I've worked on the cut-throat trading floors, and when even little things go wrong there, you get some very angry people yelling at you. I've run incident management teams and dealt with incidents where there was an outage to a whole data centre.
That was really hard, but Cyber is on another scale!
When things go wrong it can destroy businesses and reputations, we're dealing with people’s lives and livelihoods. We're dealing with criminals who will do whatever they can to steal money. Then at the same time there are increasing legal, regulatory and auditory expectations and requirements that we need to adhere to. There are multiple systems and platforms to integrate with. We must deliver excellent user experience.
Then on top of all of that we have to go really FAST, there is always another emerging risk, another hole we have to fill, another issue or problem we have to resolve.
Without a doubt Cyber is this is one of the most challenging and complex environments to work in.
I am going to share some stories, tips and insights that I have learnt throughout my career. Some war stories, some success stories, but all of them will help ensure you deliver effective and user-friendly cybersecurity solutions."
