Jongkil Jeong

Dr Jongkil Jay Jeong is a CyberCRC Senior Research Fellow with Deakin Cyber at Deakin University. His current research focuses on the human-centric aspects of cyber security including the adoption of next-generation authentication and identity technologies, quantification of human-centric cyber risk and its impact on cyber insurance, enhancing cyber security education training & awareness (SETA) programs and cyber security maturity building for nations. Prior to his current role, he was a Research Fellow at Monash University, investigating how a nations cybersecurity capability is influenced by socio-cultural factors. This research was undertaken in conjunction with the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC) and Oxford University. On top of his academic positions, Jay also has extensive industry experience serving as the Principal Research Scientist at TNK, applying the latest in behavioural science to cybersecurity; leading the Webasia Initiative at Melbourne IT, driving strategic partnerships and launching multiple CCTLDs in Australia; and establishing Synaptic - the first commercial wireless network service provider in New Zealand.
