Brendan Smith is the CISO and Principal Consultant at Prism Cyber by Cube Networks, a cybersecurity consultancy based in Melbourne. He has worked in the information and cybersecurity fields in Australia and Europe, and regards cybersecurity as a vocation and passion since commencing as a distributed network security engineer over 20 years ago.
Through his career Brendan has worked in a number of verticals including Finance, Engineering and Education. Prior to his role as the Principal Consultant for Prism Cyber he was the CISO for an ASX-50 entertainment organisation, having moved into enterprise security from his role as the Manager of the Enterprise Managed Security team at Fujitsu ANZ.
With a strong technical background, Brendan now focusses on security governance, risk, and strategy, and uses his experience to advise and guide senior stakeholders including company boards. It is this experience that enables him to speak on this topic with confidence and authority.
Brendan continues to contribute to the security community through his work with standards bodies, incubators, and mentoring new entrants to this vital field.
