I began my career as a chef, completing an apprenticeship at TAFE. I advanced to the award-winning Rockpool Bar and Grill, mastering various culinary skills, including pastry and fish-mongering. I also helped open several fine dining restaurants, including my family's establishment. During my 15-year culinary career, I experienced being scammed, which sparked my interest in cyber security. After lockdown, I completed a Certificate 4 in Cyber Security in 2022. I then joined the Deloitte Cyber Academy, securing a role in governance, risk, and compliance for a large supermarket chain in Australia. Recognised for my achievements, I was a finalist for Tertiary Student of the Year, celebrated at the AISA Cyber Conference in 2023. Now in my first year of a Bachelor of Cyber Security degree, I continue to work on policy and standards uplift, including implementing the NIST Framework 2.0 and ensuring compliance with the Critical Infrastructure Act. I collaborate with the Security Awareness Manager to create engaging videos to socialise these standards. Featured in an article by Future Skills Organisation, I aim to become a leader in security awareness in the gaming industry, combining my creative skills with cyber security knowledge to drive awareness and education.
