Alex Cullen

Alex Cullen is a NSW Cyber Ambassador and also a principal advisor and leads the strategic advisory function at Cyber Security NSW. Alex's work in advisory and public policy is underpinned by hands-on experience in security operations, IT and compliance roles. As a Cyber Ambassador, Alex is one of a number of professionals helping to promote interest in high schools for cyber security careers in NSW, including attending career days and running workshops such as the Ambassador program event held at SydneySEC in 2023. 

Within his advisory role, Alex supports stakeholders across NSW Government and councils with any current and emerging issues as well as leading work on the NSW Cyber Security Policy. Name a topic and it has probably come up in the advisory function: Drones, smart cities, AI, vulnerability disclosure frameworks, 5G, cyber insurance, overseas working, cyber security investment, cyber security strategies, incident response plans, and business cases just to name a few. 

Alex has a Masters of Cybersecurity, Policing, Intelligence & Counter-Terrorism (M CPICT), a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BA IntStud), and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BScIT). He also currently holds a GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA) certification and TAFECyber Essential Eight Assessment Course credential.
