Synopsis

"I just want to do my job" Securely. Conveniently. Seamlessly. In an era where cloud computing's ubiquity stretches the fabric of traditional security models, the emerging model of Security Service Edge (SSE) steps into the spotlight, poised to redefine the frontiers of cloud boundaries. This paper introduces the concept of Security Service Edge (SSE), a strategic integration of security functions within the cloud infrastructure to ensure robust, scalable, and agile security solutions.

By leveraging a cloud-delivered security model, this session will offer a guide to rise "above the fray" of traditional perimeter security struggles by placing security at the cloud edge in line with majority of the traffic.

We will delve into the operational impacts of SSE on modern cloud security practices. We analyse how SSE facilitates a transition from traditional perimeter-based security models to a more flexible, boundary-less approach. This includes a discussion on the integration of critical security functions such as data loss prevention, secure web gateways, cloud access security brokers and zero trust network within a single SSE framework.

Concluding, adoption of SSE is a cornerstone of next-generation cybersecurity strategies. It emphasizes that through continuous innovation and integration of cutting-edge technologies, SSE not only addresses current security challenges but also prepares organizations for future cybersecurity demands, ensuring resilience in an increasingly volatile cyber landscape.
