Synopsis
Cyber incidents are increasing. Established models like the incident response lifecycle demonstrate the historical focus on technical remediation when responding to a cyber incident. Over recent years, incident response capabilities are increasingly recognising the need for planned and coordinated engagement with non-technical stakeholders to manage potential and actual consequences. This change is redefining what an effective incident response should look like.
As the central agency for a cyber emergency within Victoria, the Department of Government Services is adapting to this change. During this session, Dovid Clarke, the Victorian Government Chief Information Security Officer will share learnings from supporting the response to incidents and will provide some key considerations for attendees looking to improve their response capability.
