Synopsis

The impact of AI on decision-making is highly significant for individual, groups and organisations. AI is accelerating cyber threats and humans on the frontline are under pressure to detect AI threats and make good decisions faster than ever before.

Whether it be in cyber incident response or operations, users confronted by AI in their every day technology use, policing on the frontline detecting reality of threats, or the warfighter under pressure needing to make kinetic decisions, Kylie will take the audience through an imminent threat decision-making response model (based on procedural rationality) to highlight that humans still have the upperhand and can make superior decisions. This model was developed with the Defence warfighter in mind and can be adapted for cyber security to enhance cognitive abilities in the midst of an in imminent cyber threat.

The aim is to achieve decision superiority in the face of AI threats as machines still pale in comparison to the human mind

Using her usual interactive style with the audience Kylie will tell stories from the front line of cyber defence to highlight how to adapt and use the decision matrix and show how better decisions can be achieved when adopting this model in the face of AI.
