Automation as a key to Essential Eight compliance success

Essential 8 (E8) is a set of mitigation strategies published by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) and the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) designed to build Australia’s cyber resilience and protect against common cyber threats.

The ACSC has outlined four maturity levels, from Maturity Level Zero to Maturity Level Three, to assist organizations in implementing the Essential Eight.

Maturity Level Three, in particular, is challenging as it is very difficult to achieve without Automation. In this presentation, we will explore how automation can aid businesses in the E8 compliance process and discuss the various challenges they may encounter.

• Explain the Essential Eight (E8) strategies and the importance of achieving different maturity levels for enhancing cyber resilience.
• Demonstrate how automation can facilitate compliance with the E8.
• Identify and discuss the benefits and challenges organizations may face when integrating automation into their E8 compliance process.
