Synopsis

A major issue keeping Directors & Officers up at night is the cyber exposures of their organisations and the steps they need to take to manage their personal liabilities. The range of obligations directors face has exploded over the past 12 months due to increased regulatory demands, the passing of new laws, greater stakeholder demands, and an increase in litigation resulting from major cyber events. Cybersecurity professionals face the challenging task of providing reassurance to directors and senior leaders while dealing with demands that may be impractical or impossible within available resource constraints.

In the modern environment, it has become increasingly important for directors and cybersecurity professionals to have strong and functional relationships. Directors increasingly seek guidance on how cybersecurity efforts align with the company's overall strategy and why specific budgets and resources are necessary to protect against potential threats.

Similarly, it has become increasingly important for cybersecurity professionals to gain directors' support and approval for their key strategies and initiatives, and to have sufficient authority and trust to enable teams to function efficiently.
