Synopsis

If you have ever thought about taking payments from credit cards through an EFTPOS device (and what brick-and-mortar business hasn't?), this presentation is for you.

These cards have become a normal part of our lives but we often don't think about the security that surrounds them and the rules we need to abide by as businesses, especially if you're new to the game. In this talk I will be going over the in-built security within credit cards, the security of how we pay for things in-store and the GRC security frameworks surrounding credit cards with a focus on business requirements for in-store payments. There will also be a small in-depth look into the more technical aspects of how EFTPOS/Pin-Pad devices accept payments. The aim is for you to feel more aware of your cybersecurity foundations and the security expected of you to accept credit cards in-store.
